Been a while since I last blogged. I've been busy with work and landscaping the backyard. I put the christmas tree up the other day, and tinsel and lights around the house. I know it's early, but it's exciting having a new house to decorate.

The cats have been having fun with the tree, dragging candy canes and decorations off, and chewing on tinsel. One morning I came downstairs and Kirby had sparkles on her lil pink nose from a tree decoration. She looked adorable!

Yesterday it was so hot here! It got to 37 degrees. It was a bit of a shock to the system after the cold winter weather we've been having. Since we don't have air conditioning yet, we went to the cinema to see The Matrix Revolutions. It was quite disapointing, really. Wait till it comes out on DVD. Today we went out for Yum Cha. It's become a fortnightly ritual and I love it! Pork Buns are so good! We also went to the hardware store for supplies for the backyard landscaping, and had a look at some barbeques.

Meg and Lenny (my pet mice) have grown lots and filled out. Their favorite food by far is corn kernels. They love them! On Friday I bought them a Super Pet Run-About Ball, and also added another level to their cage. Tonight they were running around on my computer desk, I usually let them do that when I'm surfing the net or whatever. I took a few snaps of them. Meg comes out more so it's easier to get a good shot of her. Lenny is shyer and doesn't sit out in the open as much. She does come out sometimes, but prefers to sit under my monitor.

Woo, it's friday! Today after work I went to the pet shop and got my mousies a mouse house to sleep in. It's an apple with holes in the top and front, and a little ladder leading up. It's so sweet!

Since I'm actually blogging on a Friday, here's the Friday Five.

1. What vehicle do you drive?
I drive an aqua Nissan Pulsar.

2. How long have you had it?
Mmm... about 3 or 4 months.

3. What is the coolest feature on your vehicle?
Well it isn't exactly new, so um... probably the cd player and speakers I am planning on putting in soon!

4. What is the most annoying thing about your vehicle?
Sometimes the clutch makes a funny noise - probably should get that fixed :)

5. If money were no object, what vehicle would you be driving right now?
Well I love Toyota Celicas, but if money were no object, probably a Lamborgini Diablo!!

Work is going so so well. I don't think it could be going much better! I'm very happy.

In other news, I got a new pet on my day off last week! Or should I say pets. I got two cute lil mousies who are now living in a cage in my study. Lenny loves running on the mouse wheel in the cage, but I haven't seen Meg run on it yet. She prefers to sit in it to clean herself!

Since moving house, I've been on the hunt for a job as a Veterinary Nurse. It's not easy getting turned down all the time. Last week I had an interview at a veterinary clinic just 10 minutes away. This morning I went back for a couple of hours to see how I liked the place and how they liked me. The veterinary clinic is great, everything I would want to work in. Everyone was very friendly, and I watched a male dog get 'fixed up'. I've seen a female done before, but males are much simpler to do. Around 11.30am I was taken into the office and told I got the job!! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, and I still can't.

The position isn't permanent though. The clinic currently has people on maternity leave etc. and they aren't sure who is coming back and who isn't and what hours they'll be able to do. So I have been offered a 4-6 week position with a view to become permanent providing there is work for me. Even if I'm not offered a permanent position after the 4-6 weeks (which I was told probably won't happen) I will still have some more experience under my belt, which is only a good thing. Hooray!

Today I went out for milk and a magazine and ended up having another car hit me. It was raining and getting a bit dark. I started to take off from the traffic lights and this guy just ran into the rear end of my car. I couldn't stop where I was because it was way too busy, so I pulled into a side street. Luckily the guy was nice enough to follow me up the side street so we could swap details. The damage to my poor lil car isn't too bad, just a ding in the bumper bar and a ding in the hatchback door. It sure felt like a harder hit than it looks!

After hearing on the news that the blood bank's blood levels were critically low, I donated yesterday. I've been donating since I was about 19 but I hadn't since I moved here, so the segment on the news was a good kick in the butt for me to go.

For a while now I've been considering whether to upgrade my Blogger and which upgrade to go for. I decided to go for Ad Free. When I got up this morning it had kicked in and no more ads! Hooray for that! I'm really liking this layout now, and I've also realised it's a very good layout for the beginning of Spring.

Here's my Friday Five:

1. What housekeeping chore(s) do you hate doing the most?
I really don't like folding and putting away the washing. I don't have issues with washing it or hanging it on the line, it's just the folding and putting away part. Quite frankly I would rather clean the loo.

2. Are there any that you like or don't mind doing?
I don't mind doing the dishes because we have a dishwasher! I'm quite happy to vacuum too.

3. Do you have a routine throughout the week or just clean as it's needed?
I just clean as needed, although Sunday I usually do a bit of vacuuming and mopping.

4. Do you have any odd cleaning/housekeeping quirks or rules?
The only thing I can think of is that I always wash clothes, towels, sheets etc. in cold water. If someone did my washing and used warm or hot water I really wouldn't be a happy chappy. Is that an odd quirk?

5. What was the last thing you cleaned?
I did my nightly clean up of the kitchen just before.

Yesterday I was feeling sick in the stomach, so I didn't do much except nap on the couch. As a result of that (I'm guessing) I woke up at 4.30am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep for anything. I lay there thinking until 6am when I decided it was time to get up. I think the only people (they are!) that were happy I was up at that hour were the kitty cats! They ran down the stairs with me and were purring. Speaking of the kitty cats, they're both curled up asleep in their little kitty cat beds right now. I wish I was a cat so I could sleep all day too.

So this morning when I got up I had the urge to do another redesign here. The other one didn't have room for anything other than the weblog, so I like this one better. Plus I found that absolutely gorgeous kitten picture on google image search, and really wanted to use it. That kitten is so tiny, I just want to give it a kiss on it's cute and furry little kitten head!

This morning I took my car to get a couple of things done, and while waiting for it I got my tax done. I'm glad to have that out of the way. I've put the cat page up (in the menu), and the rest are coming soon.

Now it's time for the Friday Five again! This week's five didn't really apply to me, so I'm going back in time and doing August 1st.

1. What time do you wake up on weekday mornings?
It varies at the moment because I'm still looking for a job since I've moved. As tempting as it is to sleep in everyday, I get up around 8 or 9 so I don't turn into a lazy slob!

2. Do you sleep in on the weekends? How late?
I almost always sleep in on the weekends unless I have something on. I usually get up about 11am.

3. Aside from waking up, what is the first thing you do in the morning?
Make myself a cup of tea. When I did the supermarket shopping last week I got some tomato juice, so I'm drinking that in the mornings too now. Yummay!

4. How long does it take to get ready for your day?
About 30 mins, or longer if I'm having a bad hair day!

5. When possible, what is your favorite place to go for breakfast?
The Blue Train Cafe. It's a really funky cafe in the city, right on the river. I love it there, but haven't been for ages.

Job hunting is not easy. Yesterday I had an interview which turned out to be a complete waste of time. I called the place as specified in the ad, explained my experience, and was asked to come in for an interview. I went in, was kept waiting for almost an hour (which normally I wouldn't mind), then told that I didn't have the experience they were looking for! Grr! It's always a downer when an interview doesn't go well, or you are told you didn't get a job you have previously applied for.

So afterwards I had a little bit of retail therapy to lift my spirits back up . Being a lover of anything in the way of stuffed toys, this cute little froggy did the trick! I have appropriately named him 'Frog'. Frog is now sitting on top of my monitor keeping an eye on things! Since the one lone fish in my fishbowl was starting to look a little lonely, I also visited the pet shop and got three new fishy friends to keep it company. Ahh... retail therapy.

Today I'm pulling out all my group certificates etc. and starting to organise my tax, oh joy, but it has to been done.

Yes, I've changed my url again, but it's the last time, I swear it! I've been pretty busy today because we have visitors staying tonight. I cooked a nice roast, and even made desert :) They need to be at the airport by 6am tomorrow morning, so we're giving them a lift - talk about early! Makes me yawn just thinking about it.

It's been rained steadily most of last night and all of today, which is great because Melbourne is on water restrictions at the moment. The restrictions include things like not having sprinkler systems on, and washing cars with a bucket instead of a hose. It'll be good to be off restrictions - you should see the amount of water I slosh on myself trying to wash my car with the bucket!

And now for something I haven't done for ages! The Friday Five...

Just tonight I had a laugh with bf about an Austin Powers movie line.

Hmm... as boring as this is, I don't remember.

This morning when I had a shower!

The apple pie I made (this includes defrosting and heating lol) for desert tonight.

I've come to the conclusion that redesigning my site is a job that requires night time. I tried a few times to do something new to this page, but couldn't, until I had another bash at it after midnight. I really like this green color - it reminds me of peppermint choc chip icecream! The furry lil animal holding the acorn is Scrat from the movie Ice Age.

This morning we had the motor fitted to our garage door, so now we have spiffy new little remotes to open the door with. No more hopping out of the car to open the garage! Sweet!

The cam is on in the day time again, now that I'm feeling better.

Welcome to Michelle Net in it's new home! Yes indeed, I have changed ISPs again. I keep choosing ones that are crap! With any luck this one will be good. The message board is temporarily unavailable. I have to reconfigure the settings for my new isp, so until I have time to do that it will remain unavailable.

The new kitties, George and Kirby are both happy and healthy and growing like mad!

I'm all moved into the new house now, and have just started looking for a job.

When the kittens came home, they were both the same size, although George was 5 mths old and Kirby was 3 mths. I think George is now making up for lost time because she has noticably grown in the 13 days we have had her! In the first few days after we bought the kitties home, I took cam pics, then took some more today. Here are the 'then' and 'now' pics of both kitties:

Kirby is growing too, just not at the super speed George is!

George was given some antibiotics and some cream for her eye, and after only one day it looks a little bit better.

Yesterday I went to the gym and did a Body Combat class. It's a combo of karate, tai kwon do, kung-fu and kick boxing, and went for an hour. I was quite tired by then end, but pleased I made it through the whole class. Tomorrow morning I am going to Body Balance, which is Yoga and Pilates based.

Yesterday morning, George's eye started weeping. She must have banged it on something while she was playing. It hasn't got any better since then, so this afternoon I am taking her to the vet to make sure it's all ok.

We have new kittens! We got them from the Cat Protection Society on Monday.

I named my kitten Kirby and she is about 3 mths old.

The other kitten's name is George and she is about 5 mths old.

They get along together very well, even cleaning each other a few times!

The ISPs FTP is working today, and I received an email from them the other day apologising for the last month [apparently their server broke down yada etc]. I'm so tempted not to change ISPs because a) I'm too lazy and b) this one is just right for me payment wise etc.

There are only about two weeks left until uni is over for the semester and until I move.

I had a great easter weekend. The first part I spent here, and the second part I spent in Melbourne at the new house! It's so so nice. And there are only 65 days until I move in... I'm not counting or anything.

The only bad part about the weekend was that I was sick one night. I threw up three times and had a really bad headache for most of the night. I finally slept at around 6am. I'm assuming it was something I ate.

Tonight while at work, I ran into one of my supervisors, whom I have been asking for bar shifts from. I haven't asked about it in a while, and since winter is coming and the restaurant is slowing down, I thought I would ask again. He said he needed someone for tonight! Yay! So I worked my normal shift in the restaurant, had a 30 minute break and started on my bar shift. It's so much fun working on the bar, and everyone is really happy. The restaurant is ok, but no where near as good.

At the end of the shift, I went to the bar supervisor (a different one) and asked her how I went and would there be a chance of any regular bar work. She said I did well, and that she would talk to the bar roster person about getting me put on the roster! So I'm off to bed now, hopeful that more work is heading my way.

Today I got my supermarket shopping done. Hooray, I have food again! I also bought a pair of tracky dacks, I really like them! I got all my easter shopping done, except one present that I'll buy this week. I've put them all in a row and it looks like some kind of bunny line up!

This whole ISP thing has been a pain in the butt! I was with Ion Internet who have been a very good provider. They closed down on Tuesday, and they handed all their customer accounts to itXpress. At first that all seemed fine to me, until this morning when I had a problem. I called itXpress, only to be told that they will not provide phone support to Ion customers, they will only provide phone support to actual itXpress customers. What the? Why bother taking on Ion's customers at all?

So this afternoon, after some looking around, I have a new ISP! I have been very very impressed with Froggy so far. I was up and running in only five minutes!

This site got deleted last night. I got up this morning to find a nice page saying 'this is where your home page goes'. I called my ISP and apparently sites got deleted when servers were changed or something. Also, it might happen again during this whole changing from one ISP to another thing. So if I dissapear, never fear, I will return!

Turns out my site's address won't be changing. Even though I'm now with another ISP, I get to keep all the same email address, site address etc. I can't wait to move house. I wish I was there today, helping to move in. It's all too exciting! But instead of that, I'm home getting assignment work done. I got two assignments handed in a week or two back, one yesterday, and the one I'm working on now is the last one until next term.

I got a suprising email before I left for work tonight. My ISP [which is unreal, by the way] will cease it's operations as of this Tuesday! They also said they will not let our customers down, and that our internet accounts will be transferred to another ISP. What I want to know is, who will it be, and will they be as good?

When I was a little kiddie, there was no bigger delight than becoming the proud owner of a cereal box toy [especially when there were two other kiddies to compete with]. Since then, much to my horror, cereal companies have mostly gone the cheap ass way and put pieces of crap into cereal boxes, rather than toys.

Fear no more - cereal box toys have returned! Granted, I had to buy the biggest box of cereal to get it, but I now have a Bobble Head! From the Bobble Head selection [which includes Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet], I got a Pooh Bobble Head. I would rather have had a Tigger, but hey, maybe next time!

Also, I've added a new music page. It show the last 50 songs I played in Winamp on my PC.
